Library2Go: Getting Started Overview Library2Go is a service provided by the Oregon Digital Library Consortium, which includes Multnomah County Library along with many libraries across the state.
OverDrive is a collection of audiobooks, films, music, and eBooks that can be downloaded in the OverDrive® Media Console format to a variety of devices such as PCs, laptops, and supported MP3 players and iPods, as well as mobile devices and eReaders. To access OverDrive media files you will need:
Step 1: Download/Install Software As a first step, you need to download and install the free software that allows you to enjoy the type(s) of materials you are interested in.
To download OverDrive media titles, you need OverDrive Media Console. OverDrive Media Console is available for:
To download Adobe eBooks, you will need to install Adobe® Digital Editions.

Step 2: Register Your Free Software After you have installed the software that you downloaded, you need to take steps to activate the software before downloading digital materials.
Adobe Digital Editions requires activation.
Adobe Digital Editions can be activated anonymously or by using an Adobe ID. Anonymous activation allows you to download and read DRM-protected eBooks on a single computer only. Activating using an Adobe ID allows you to download and read DRM-protected eBooks on multiple computers and transfer them to supported eBook devices. Note that both Adobe Digital Editions and your eBook device(s) must be activated with the same Adobe ID to transfer DRM-protected Adobe eBooks to the device.

OverDrive Media Console for Windows requires a security upgrade.
OverDrive Media Console for Windows utilizes Windows Media® Player 9 Series (or newer) to play DRM-protected files. The first time that Windows Media Player attempts to open a DRM-protected file, it will alert you that a security upgrade must be performed before the file can be opened. The upgrade takes just a few moments. Only OverDrive Media Console for Windows requires a security upgrade. All other versions of OverDrive Media Console do not require security upgrades.
Step 3: Check Out and Enjoy OverDrive digital media You can browse or search the OverDrive collection: Library2Go
When you locate a title of interest, simply add it to your cart and check out the title. If the desired item is not available, you may place a hold on the title. Patrons have lending period options to choose from for the different media types. Patrons can have a total of 6 items checked out at once.
In addition, if you place a hold on a title, you have 3 days to check out the item after an email is sent out notifying you that it is available, or the item is made available to the next patron. You can have a maximum of 6 items on your waiting list.
When placing a hold or checking out a title, you will be required to choose your library system (Multnomah County Library) and enter your library card number.
Once you have checked out the OverDrive item, a download page will be displayed. Click the link to download your file. Once the download is complete, you can close your Internet connection and enjoy your OverDrive file offline.

- A valid email address so you can be notified when your titles are available for download.
